VOREA 44th Avenue

Designing an Inspirational Future

KSQ was retained by the VOREA Group to reposition a historic paper mill along 44th Ave in Long Island City. Working in tandem with the innovative anchor tenant for the development, The NY Times Wirecutter, major work on the historic structure included a rehabilitation of the shell of the building to permit ample natural daylight, restoration of the wood post and beam structure, strategically placed openings in the main level floor to animate the lower level and all new interior mechanical and related building systems. Test plans for the development included the exploration of a multistory solution with a focus on exterior terraces and outdoor experience spaces.
